Overview

The International Green Construction Code (IgCC) regulates construction of new and remodeled commercial buildings. It is the first model code to include sustainability measures for the entire construction project and its site — from design through construction, certificate of occupancy, and beyond. Adaptable, enforceable, and census-based, the code provides economic benefits, baseline green requirements, professional development, and technical support. It incorporates ASHRAE Standard 189.1 as an alternate path to compliance.

The IgCC is fully compatible with all of the International Codes by the International Code Council, including the International Building Code and the International Energy Conservation Code.
