Overview

The Building Energy Exchange is seeking high-resolution images of Passive House projects and building components for a new Passive House training course. Photos selected for inclusion will be credited in the presentation, which will be seen by hundreds of property owners, managers, and developers across NYC. Download the Call for Photos here.

Despite the growing popularity of the Passive House standard, many New York City building decision-makers remain unfamiliar with the components of the standard, or the challenges and benefits of its application. Many of the resources and trainings currently available on the topic are highly technical, time-consuming, or geared towards single-family homes, rather than the large multifamily buildings more common in NYC.

The Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex), has developed a 60 to 90-minute “primer” (slide presentation) to demystify the basic principles of Passive House for a non-technical audience of property owners, managers, and developers.  The primer will be delivered at BE-Ex’s resource center in downtown Manhattan, and at offices across New York City

BE-Ex is seeking high-resolution images (minimum 150 dpi at 8.5x11”) for inclusion in this presentation. Desired images include:

  • Passive House interiors
  • Passive House exteriors (renderings welcome)
  • Photos from the construction phase, esp. photos that illustrate proper installation of PH components (i.e. insulation, windows, etc.)
  • Passive House products and components, including: insulation, airtight materials, doors & windows, and mechanical ventilation systems.

Photos from multifamily residential and NYC-based projects are preferred, but all project types are welcome. BE-Ex is interested in showcasing the diversity of Passive House projects. All images included in the presentation will be credited.

To Submit:

Please send images and preferred image title/credit to: hc@be-exchange.org  by Dec. 1, 2017.  Include “PH Primer Photos” in the subject line. By submitting photos, individuals grant BE-Ex license to use them in this presentation. Submitters will retain ownership rights to their images.  BE-Ex will notify individuals if their images are selected for inclusion in the presentation.
