Get informed on New York City climate legislation and its impact on buildings. Register now for the Climate Mobilization Act Primer, a one-hour seminar examining the basic principles of the Climate Mobilization Act and offering actionable guidance for building decision makers.

Additionally, this event is an opportunity to ask the NYC Accelerator team about the Climate Mobilization Act, and how to face challenges related to retrofits across New York City.

The Climate Mobilization Act, passed in April of 2019, is an ambitious legislative package placing emissions limits on New York City’s large commercial and residential buildings. In addition to these emissions limits, codified in Local Law 97 of 2019, the legislation includes green roof and solar PV mandates (Local Laws 92 & 94), building energy performance grades (Local Law 95), and the establishment of clean energy financing tools (Local Law 96).

The Climate Mobilization Act Primer is designed for property owners, managers, developers, and other key stakeholders interested in gaining a foundational understanding of the Climate Mobilization Act and for those seeking direction as they navigate these new regulations.

Heather Nolen is a Building Systems Director at SWA in the Multifamily Energy Services group. Her focus lies in using energy audits to design long-term capital plans for energy conservation. Heather works with multifamily property owners and managers to evaluate, manage, and improve building energy consumption across their portfolios. By partnering with clients to address near- and long-term capital planning, she is able to recommend building upgrades that will yield significant energy- and cost-savings, reduce operations and maintenance expenditures, and improve resident comfort. She employs a diversified strategy that includes training, analysis, no- to low-cost improvements, and capital upgrades paired with services to satisfy government mandates and leverage available financial incentive programs.
