Lighting the Nerve Center: the Related HQ Lighting Retrofit: Full Length Video

Lighting the Nerve Center: The Related HQ Lighting Retrofit

Join the Building Energy Exchange the morning of February 26 for a presentation of the lighting retrofit of the headquarters of Related Companies, one of the most prominent real estate firms in the country.
As a market leader in environmentally-conscious real estate, Related applies these principles to their corporate home with a comprehensive lighting retrofit implemented during full occupancy. Looking to improve energy use, visual comfort, and aesthetics, Related collaborated with Lutron Electronics for consultation and installation.  A mix of new controls for existing fluorescent fixtures and LED replacement led to an impressive reduction of both lighting energy and peak demand of more than 50%. The addition of dimmable ballasts, wireless sensors, and a web-based control system greatly improved functionality as well as performance.
Related’s retrofit process has been carefully documented in the BEEx case study published last year. The case study highlights the retrofit’s products and systems, the decision making process, challenges, and lessons learned by the project team. Details are illuminated through BEEx interviews with Related and Lutron team members.
Join us February 26th to hear directly from the lead team members of this project, Elliot An of Related Companies and Tom Myers of Lutron Electronics. The technology and performance will be presented and they will share lessons learned for this important project.
Audience dialogue will follow the presentation.
