The greening of the grid depends in large part on the ability to transition the use of fossil fuels to systems that are electrified. With greater demand for power on our transmission grids and more renewable generation sources for that power, goals for decarbonization can be met. However, to do this while also maintaining reliability, a more modern grid infrastructure must be in place.
