Join us for our next episode of Radio BE-Ex, where Architect Carl Elefante, FAIA, FAPT, LEED AP, highlights AIA’s commitment to climate action and the central importance of retrofitting existing buildings in addressing climate change.

As a former AIA President with a deep professional history in architectural practice, Carl Elefante understands the important role architects play in preparing for the future and making buildings more sustainable, resilient, and adaptable. The American Institute of Architects has announced a commitment to climate action: an acknowledgement of architects’ responsibility to help reduce climate impacts and address climate risk, along with plans for climate policy advocacy–in which Mr. Elefante played a central role.  We will also discuss his long advocacy for focusing on our existing building stock as an opportunity for climate action.

Radio BE-Ex is a live podcast series by Building Energy Exchange that features industry leaders working at the intersection of buildings, energy, and sustainability. The Radio BE-Ex theme for 2021 is Radical Scale: the people, processes, and technology that will ensure the built environment meets the needs of the future.

Radio BE-Ex is made possible across 2021 through the generous support of National Grid.
