About Gramercy Townhouse
Gramercy Townhouse was envisioned as an Airbnb or Hotel true to New York City by owner, Sudha Sahai. The preexisting four story, two family townhouse with a brick shell and wood joists was gut renovated to provide increased floor to floor heights and become a five story, multi-apartment vacation residence, including a garden-level apartment along with a second and third floor duplex.

Constructed to Passive House standards, the project achieved EnerPHit component certification targets. Gramercy Townhouse provides superior indoor environmental quality as well as a luxury setting for guests. The building features a continuous insulated exterior, triple glazed windows, a high efficiency heat recovery ventilation system that continuously filters airflow, and acoustically superior interiors with minimal carbon imprint.

Celebrate NYC is a program series sponsored by National Grid, showcasing some of the most prominent energy efficient building renovations and retrofits included in the Celebrate NYC exhibit, currently on display at the Building Energy Exchange.
