Thursday June 17th, 2021
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Join us for our next Radio BE-Ex interview with Susan Ubbelohde, Co-Founder & Principal of L+U Associates, to learn about the importance and benefits of relying on daylight and designing sustainable, daylit buildings. Susan Ubbelohde is a leading expert in daylighting design & research, with a focus on visual comfort, energy efficiency, sustainability and delight in high-performance building design.
Daylighting, using light from the sun and sky, improves not only the effective energy use of a building, but daylight also connects us to time, weather and the world outside in ways that improve the health and well-being of occupants. Designing buildings with daylight, however, is more complex than punching a hole to the outside or making a wall of glass.
At BE-Ex, we’ve encouraged daylight use as part of Daylight Hour, a social media campaign encouraging the use of daylight in lieu of electric lighting in office environments. Register here to join us in shutting off your lights for one hour on June 18th to raise awareness around the social, economic, and environmental benefits of daylighting in office spaces.
