9:00 am to 10:30 am
Building Energy Exchange and NYSERDA are pleased to present the next event in our Empire Building Challenge educational series, High Rise / Low Carbon: Keep the Outside Out. Focused on recent innovations in delivering high-performance envelope retrofits, this event will include speakers working on what is an essential keystone for maintaining high quality indoor environments while radically lowering heating and cooling demand to realize a low-carbon future.
Featuring diverse examples, from the over-cladding of masonry buildings to the re-cladding of curtainwall buildings, this discussion will focus on the technical aspects of high performance envelopes like integrating MEP systems into cladding, but also the ownership structures and cost compression that can result from innovation in this critical space. Hear from the Partners of the Empire Building Challenge that are pioneering high-rise, low-carbon retrofits, as well as from building envelope experts as they discuss pathways to low carbon envelope retrofits.
Please note: This is a hybrid in person/online event. Space is limited. If joining in-person, you will be asked upon entry to show your in-person ticket and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and recommended booster shot(s) (via Excelsior Pass or other proof of vaccination). Virtual attendance to this event is also available – you may choose to join and participate via Zoom webinar.
