BEEx is very happy to announce the opening of registration for the 2017 Daylight Hour — our social media campaign promoting the use of natural lighting to reduce energy use, save money and improve office spaces all over the world. What began as a simple campaign to raise awareness has gone viral, reaching 10 million across 20 countries last year — and 2017 will no doubt be the biggest year yet.

The newly redesigned website makes it easier than ever to sign up and features a “group” option, allowing the many organizations that register multiple office locations to manage these from a single account.

To raise awareness about the availability of natural light, participating offices will turn the lights off in naturally-lit spaces on June 16, 2017 from noon to 1 pm local time. Participants are encouraged to post photos, videos, and other content about their involvement to social media.

BEEx will track the participants of Daylight Hour, promote their involvement and efforts, and estimate the energy savings and other impacts of the campaign. The campaign allows organizations to showcase their environmental commitment and educate communities about the role building energy plays in the climate crisis. BEEx will recognize outstanding participants through a variety of awards.

Everyone is invited to register for the campaign at daylighthour.org and use #DaylightHour. To view the impacts of our 2016 campaign, click here
