Dear BE-Ex Community,

In this uniquely challenging time, we are all adjusting to this strange new reality and taking the necessary actions to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  While our center’s public programs are temporarily on hold, Building Energy Exchange remains committed to being an active leader in our community, providing a forum and the resources to advance the health, comfort, and performance of our buildings while we face this unprecedented challenge together.

To quote from the exciting launch of our center of excellence:

The Exchange is both a place and an objective.

In the coming weeks, we will be dipping into our robust program archive of panel discussions, keynotes, and technology presentations.  We’ll share these highlights via social media and our newsletter. We will be transforming our programs calendar to provide interactive virtual events and classes.  And we are developing unique new content, as well as a distance-learning platform, to continue to enrich, engage, and inform our community.

We also invite you to share your own updates, activities, and resources, so we can help amplify the exchange of knowledge across our wonderful community.

In the decade since our founding, this community came together to make the Building Energy Exchange the central hub for the exchange of ideas and progressive discourse, accelerating our shared mission to reduce the effects of climate change by improving the built environment.

Just as we did at our opening celebration, we invite you to: Join usAttend a (virtual) class, experience a (digital) exhibit, participate in a (Zoom) roundtable, become a supporter, or submit a virtual program idea of your own.  Together we can ensure a just, sustainable, and resilient future for all.

Please do all you can to be well and stay safe,

With love,

Richard C. Yancey, FAIA, LEED AP
Executive Director
