When I was given the opportunity to work on the Daylight hour campaign with Building Energy Exchange I was very excited. Because the team is small, there has been plenty to help out with and plenty of opportunities to prove myself.

Through Daylight Hour, I have learned valuable lessons about what it takes to engage communities and successfully communicate the importance of sustainable workplace practices such as lighting retrofits and more efficient cooling methods. Throughout the Daylight Hour campaign I’ve been inspired to explore a range of strategies through social media that are bolder and more creative in communicating that message than more traditional methods.

Since working at Building Energy Exchange I’ve assisted with a variety of tasks such as managing the social media channels to raise awareness for campaigns and events, helping out with blog posts and assisting with event set up. No two days are ever the same and it’s great to be constantly learning about the business and how they do things.

Overall, it’s been amazing to be a part of this organization, and I look forward to the remaining time. I am excited about the contribution I have made so far, and I am thrilled that I was able to work on such a wonderful campaign like Daylight Hour, which can enhance the office environment and encourage more sustainable practices.
