Turning Data into Action: Decarbonization Pathways for Office Buildings (April 18, 9-10:30am)

Join BE-Ex for the launch of Turning Data into Action: Office Buildings, a strategic retrofit guide designed to help building decision-makers achieve emissions savings and comply with Local Law 97. The strategic retrofit guide sifts through NYC benchmarking data and energy audits to identify the most impactful and cost-effective emissions reductions measures for commercial office buildings. Four tear sheets, organized by common heating and cooling systems, offer proven decarbonization pathways for buildings at nearly any level of baseline performance. Join this program to get first access to the report.

Passive House Fundamentals (April 18, 1-2pm)

The afternoon of April 18, dive deep into the fundamentals of high-comfort, ultra-low-energy use building design and construction: airtightness, energy recovery ventilation, insulation and thermal bridging, and high-performance windows & doors.

NYC Bar Fourth Annual Earth Day Climate Change Symposium (April 20, 8:30am-12:30pm)

Building Energy Exchange’s Executive Director Richard Yancey joins the New York City Bar Association for a symposium on climate policy, with a focus on recent landmark city, state, and federal legislation that addresses the intersection between climate change, infrastructure, renewable energy.

Get Trained

Our e-learning platform, BE-Ex Ed, offers on-demand training on high-performance design, energy efficiency, and local climate policy. Select a course, earn continuing education credits, and incorporate sustainability into your practice. In celebration of Earth Week, all courses are free, April 17-24.

Take Action

Earth Week 2023 marks the release of two actionable industry resources by BE-Ex, charting the path to building decarbonization, local law compliance, reduced energy costs, and improved health, safety, and comfort for residents: Turning Data into Action: Office Buildings and Decarbonization Roadmap for Affordable Multifamily Housing.

Partner with Us

Through our Building Performance Partnership, BE-Ex and Institute for Market Transformation support the creation and operation of local resource hubs that accelerate measurable, equitable, and sustainable action to improve the health, comfort, and performance of buildings.

Building Energy Exchange Kansas City, Building Energy Exchange St. Louis, and Washington D.C.’s Building Innovation Hub, are the first three in a cohort of hubs born out of our Building Performance Partnership.  Those interested in creating a resource hub for their community are encouraged to reach out for more information.

Support Our Mission

Our members align themselves with other forward-thinking supporters, who help us achieve our mission of accelerating the transition to healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient buildings by serving as a resource and trusted expert to the buildings industry.
