Building Energy Exchange Announces Board Leadership Transition

Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex) is pleased to announce that Lauren Moss will assume the role of Chair of the Board of Directors in 2026, succeeding Jonathan “JP” Flaherty, who has served as Board Chair for the past nine years.
Under JP’s steadfast leadership, BE-Ex has grown into an internationally recognized center of excellence, training over 50,000 building professionals, creating a state-of-the-art learning and resource center in downtown Manhattan, and driving real impact in the building energy efficiency sector. JP will continue to contribute his expertise and institutional knowledge as the Board’s Treasurer.
Lauren brings deep experience in sustainability and building energy to the Chair role. She currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Vornado Realty Trust and has been a BE-Ex board member since 2023, most recently serving on the Executive Committee. Her leadership experience includes serving as Co-President of the New York Energy Consumers Council (NYECC), as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council Board of Directors, and previously on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA). Lauren’s professional background also includes senior roles at NORESCO and Steven Winter Associates.
