The Division of Energy Management (DEM) at the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services manages the energy accounts and efficiency initiatives for City government operations. DCAS’s Division of Energy Management (DEM) is currently supporting the recruitment of the following energy management positions at our organization and our agency partners. DEM is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Assistant Commissioner, Energy Supply, advance the unit’s work, and drive continued business transformation. The person will report to the Deputy Commissioner of DEM and function as a member of DEM’s senior team. They will be expected to provide thought leadership not only within the Energy Supply Unit, but also across DEM.

The Engineer, Clean Energy will work within DEM’s Operations Unit and help advance the critical initiative of expanding clean energy resources across the City’s portfolio.

CUNY Building Performance Lab and Onsite Energy Professionals Program: Openings

Established in 2006, the building performance lab of the CUNY Institute for Urban Systems (CUNY BPL) is an institutional platform for research and promotion of high-performance building practices. CUNY BPL is hiring qualified energy management professionals to serve as on-site consultants and fill critical staffing capacity needs at DCAS Division of Energy Management (DEM) and other partner agencies.

The Deputy Chief of Staff will be responsible for serving as a key touchpoint within the unit for internal and external stakeholders, driving performance tracking and reporting efforts, and establishing and advancing critical priorities across the unit.

The Senior Analyst, Business Systems will support the development of business systems, technology platforms, and data analysis processes that are required to effectively meet the City’s energy and emissions reductions mandates, including Local Law 97 of 2019.

The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for owning and executing the day-to-day support, configuration, training, maintenance, and overall improvement of our Salesforce solution

For Summer 2022, DEM is seeking four (4) graduate-level interns to work at DEM. Through their internship, interns will have impact at multiple scales, including helping transform energy usage for the largest municipality and school district in the United States within Budget, Contracts, Expense-Funded Retrofits, or Clean Energy.

The Junior Energy Building Researcher will support applied research projects in the Technical Services team. Primary responsibilities will be to undertake various measurement and verification (M&V) efforts for DEM, including the prediction and quantification of energy savings and GHG emissions associated with projects implemented across DEM programs and partner agencies.
