LED lighting in cities have received a lot of attention this past year, with growing coverage of energy efficient lighting at many national events. More and more cities are taking advantage of the potential 50-70% energy savings as well as significant maintenance cost savings.

As adoption rates still remain slow, The Climate Group is seeking to engage with key US stakeholders to raise awareness of the benefits and opportunities for action. In particular, we aim to increase awareness of the high relative and immediacy of impact of LEDs compared to other low carbon actions available to cities at this time, as well as links to Smart City and Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.

The City and Utility Roundtable at Climate Week will cover the common remaining LED adoption challenges for cities and utilities and explore some of the innovative finance approaches employed. We will hear from expert speakers from various sectors, presenting case studies and examples of best practice. Our invited participants for the roundtables are representatives from stakeholder groups including cities, utilities, local financiers, and agencies at national and regional levels.
