To kickoff Greenbuild 2026, join Building Energy Exchange, IMT, and national members of the Building Performance Partnership for an evening reception and topical discussion about the lessons learned from New York and how to leverage local communities of practice to scale building decarbonization across the U.S. This event will feature the architects behind much of New York’s nearly two decades of climate leadership: Rohit Aggarwala, former NYC Chief Climate Officer, John Rhodes, former PSC and NYSERDA CEOs, and Ashok Gupta, Senior NRDC Strategist.
Since the first release of PlaNYC in 2007, New York City has been a leader in driving policies and initiatives to cut greenhouse gas emissions from existing buildings. To support implementation of these innovative building policies, Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex) has been successfully providing neutral, trusted expertise and resources to an often siloed and complex sector of building stakeholders for over 15 years.
As more local and state governments pass energy benchmarking and building performance standard laws, local resource hubs, like BE-Ex and other BPP Network members, are a uniquely potent tool to boost compliance, engage and support key stakeholders, and rapidly improve performance in a wide range of existing building stock.
The Building Performance Partnership, a project of BE-Ex and the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), has created an industry-wide network of hubs that brings together industry leaders to tackle these challenges. Each hub offers best practices, success stories, and trustworthy information and resources.
