Tuning the Rock: A Road Map to Efficiency

Join the Building Energy Exchange the morning of January 22 for a presentation on retrofitting one of NYC’s most iconic places: Rockefeller Center.

In efforts to accelerate New York City buildings to be more energy efficient, NYC passed Local Law 87 – mandating energy audits and retro-commissioning for large buildings. While some building
owners exhibited reservations, Tishman Speyer set early compliance as a goal for Rockefeller Center. They achieved high-energy efficiency gains and a very positive outlook on the retrofitting process.

The panel of esteemed team members will discuss their experiences and share lessons learned that can be implemented on a global scale.

Panelists will discuss:

  • Identifying a facility’s end-use breakdown,
  • Integrating project team processes between consultant, property management, and facility teams,
  • Utilizing a project’s findings to encourage energy efficient improvements throughout a portfolio.

Audience dialogue will follow the presentation.

Tuning the Rock was also presented at the 2014 Greenbuild Conference in New Orleans. BEEx is happy to be hosting this presentation in NYC for those who missed it.

PANELISTS:
Jon Hettinger, Senior Director at Tishman Speyer
Charlie Marino, NY Director of Energy Services at AKF Group
