6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Join us on the third Week of each month for the WISE Media Club – a virtual community dedicated to discussing thought-provoking books, videos, podcasts, and more–covering topics on the built environment, climate action, and unique challenges facing the post-COVID world.
Grab your beverage and snack of choice and meet us online for the next community conversation, on June 16th from 6:00-7:00pm. (*Note: Space is limited to preserve a participation-based discussion format. Please notify us 24-hours in advance if you will be unable to attend.)
Join the WISE (Women in Sustainability & Energy) community for our third “Media Club” event of the spring. We’ll be discussing a podcast that explores the phenomenon of planning and building new cities from scratch in emerging economies. BE-Ex staff will kick off the conversation and help to facilitate an interactive discussion among attendees. We look forward to hearing from you–please come prepared to share thoughts on the following podcast:
Think Sustainability: Selling New Cities
Dozens of countries around the world are devising plans to build new cities from scratch. They’re pitched as an opportunity to start fresh and make our urban environments more sustainable and equitable. But are these new cities just an excuse to abandon the problems of existing ones?

About the WISE Media Club
The “WISE Media Club” was developed in March 2020 as a creative way to keep the WISE (Women in Sustainability & Energy) community spirit alive and to facilitate remote interaction during this time of social distancing. This recurring, monthly media club will cover female-developed podcasts, videos, and articles that touch on climate action, the built environment, and new challenges and opportunities created by the COVID pandemic. We’re excited to launch this new platform and look forward to seeing and hearing from the community.
The WISE Media Club is not a panel or presentation, rather an interactive forum. We hope all participants will come prepared with ideas & questions about the media item and will keep their cameras turned on, allowing for more fluid conversation between group members.
