BE-Ex is honored to join next week’s American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) 2022 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, across a series of panels spanning commercial tenant initiatives and scaling high-rise retrofits, to building electrification and catalyzing building industry climate action.

The preeminent conference on building energy efficiency, the ACEEE Summer Study brings together industry professionals from around the world to exchange ideas and foster collaboration around building industry climate action. Of the 400-plus formal presentations and informal sessions across the week-long conference, BE-Ex staff will present at the following:

Monday 8/22 from 10:30am-12pm PT, Project Manager Helen Chananie will feature our forthcoming Decarbonization Packages for NYC Office Buildings report at the Unlocking Commercial Building Decarbonization panel, detailing sets of energy conservation measures that enable whole-building low-carbon retrofits.

Monday 8/22 from 3-4pm PT, Executive Director Richard Yancey will join the Building Innovation Hubs: Accelerating and Expanding Capacity informal session, presenting on our Building Performance Partnership initiative with Institute for Market Transformation, which has led to the formation of innovation hubs in Washington D.C., St. Louis, and Kansas City.

Tuesday 8/23 from 4-6pm PT, Executive Director Richard Yancey will share findings from High Rise | Low Carbon: Office Deep Retrofit Profiles, detailing existing precedents for large commercial building retrofits that reduced carbon emissions in line with NYC’s 2030 LL97 limits.

Thursday 8/25 from 8:30-10am PT, Senior Project Manager Katie Schwamb will participate in the Electrification Continued – Making It Happen session, which explores the intersection between tenant/consumer behavior and decarbonization initiatives. Katie will discuss the Decarbonizing Commercial Office Tenant Spaces: Creating a New Business as Usual paper which is based on our ongoing Decarbonizing New York City Offices initiative.

We’re thrilled to present on the important research being done at Building Energy Exchange, exchange best practices and lessons learned with ACEEE participants, and leverage this knowledge to accelerate building industry climate action in our region—and beyond.

Session schedule is subject to change—please check the ACEEE Summer Study website for the most current time and location information for each presentation.
