Evana Said
Evana Said was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Before joining BE-Ex, she was a researcher at the World Resources Institute, working on projects to enable a just energy transition. She has also worked at various New York City-based organizations focused on sustainable infrastructure and community advocacy. Evana holds a B.Arch from The City College of New York with a minor in Legal Studies. She enjoys pottery, cooking, and watching cheesy 2000s rom-coms in her free time.

In 2024, wind became the UK’s largest electricity source for the first time and on January 4, 2023, they set a record high of over 87% zero-carbon energy.
2. What are you currently reading?
I’m on this mission to read all of Stephen King’s books before one of us dies so I’m currently reading The Talisman—it is book 47 of about 70 on my list. I’m also reading Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan and Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs.
3. What are some ways you reduce your carbon footprint at home?
- Reduce food waste and focus on plant-based meals primarily
- Avoid single-use products as much as possible
- Walk or use public transportation whenever possible
