Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex) is thrilled to announce the promotion of two employees– Talia Kula, advancing to Manager of Development & Operations, and Rebecca Esau, AIA, to Manager of Projects!

For nearly five years, Talia has played an essential role at BE-Ex by supporting all aspects of the organization’s operations and development initiatives, while also championing individual projects, like the recent Buildings of Excellence and New York Power Authority Energy Manager exhibits.  Talia played a critical role in the major 2018 renovation and expansion of our spaces, helping create the public resource center that is the backbone of all our work.

A leader among the team developing our Women in Sustainability & Energy (WISE) series, Talia has played an important role in shaping both the vision and execution of the series, which has included 23 programs highlighting over 50 women leaders and engaging over 500,000 on social media since its inception.

We salute Talia’s project management expertise, keen resourcefulness, and unwavering work ethic, and look forward to her continued leadership in our operational, developmental, and programmatic initiatives.

Rebecca Esau, AIA, has provided BE-Ex with technical expertise in building energy efficiency best practices since late 2018. Through a disciplined focus and excellent project management, Rebecca led the content development, design, and implementation of BE-Ex’s newest major exhibit, Anatomy of an Energy Efficient Building, launching January 29th at our downtown Manhattan resource center.  Her intelligence and generosity are hugely appreciated by her peers.

Rebecca received her Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of British Columbia. She currently is an active member of AIANY’s Committee on the Environment, where she helps to coordinate joint programs, in partnership with BE-Ex, on technical trainings and other educational programs at the intersection of architecture and sustainability.

BE-Ex would like to acknowledge Rebecca for her accomplishments, aided by a steadfast dedication, strong design sensibility, and keen project management skills.

Congratulations to both employees on their accomplishments.  We look forward to their continued success here at BE-Ex.
